Host an International Congress in Senegal

A 1,500-seat plenary hall, eight simultaneous interpretation booths, an international airport fifteen minutes away and recognised institutional stability. Here is what Senegal can genuinely accommodate — documented capacity, venue by venue.

Requirements

Congress planning starts with the right infrastructure

A congress is not a larger seminar. Four constraints set it apart, and they rule out most venues from the start: plenary capacity in theatre configuration, multilingual capability, the volume of accommodation available simultaneously, and delegate flow management.

The congress hub

Dakar & Diamniadio: Senegal's main congress hub

Diamniadio concentrates the country's large-capacity infrastructure fifteen minutes from Blaise Diagne International Airport, in a purpose-built urban hub where sites are within walking distance of one another. Dakar's Plateau places delegations at the centre of the business district, at the cost of airport transfer times.

CICAD — Diamniadio

1,500-seat plenary hall, six 100 m² VIP rooms, eight simultaneous interpretation booths, exhibition centre, media centre and 200-space car park. The only site in the country dimensioned for a multilingual summit.

King Fahd Palace — Almadies

700-seat main auditorium within a 6,000 m² conference centre of 66 rooms, including two adjoining 1,000 m² halls. Around 370 rooms on site, over 3,000 m² of outdoor space.

Pullman Dakar Teranga — Plateau

Seven independent rooms accommodating 100 to 800 people depending on configuration, with 247 rooms and suites on site — one of the few Plateau venues combining large meeting capacity and integrated accommodation.

Four Points & Courtyard — Diamniadio

A shared complex two minutes from CICAD. Ballroom for up to 400 theatre-style, and the option of combining both properties to accommodate delegations on site.

Beyond the venue

A congress is rarely built on a single site

Above 500 delegates, no Senegalese venue combines plenary, breakouts and accommodation on its own. The set-up is built by combination — and that is where the choice of hub becomes decisive.
